Roka is stylish, trendy, sleek and elegant. It's the kind of place to go when you want to feel like you're having a special treat. Great for two as well as larger groups, the restaurant (based on Aldwych experience) is spacious with a good level of energy. They also have a bar if you want to just drop by for a drink in style.
Although it is possible to order a la carte, the set menus are probably the ways to go. Each of the four restaurants have a tasting menu, not all identical, and the Aldwych and Canary Wharf have additional 'weekend brunch' menus, which in my opinion are good deals for what you get. The Aldwych branch also has a 'lunch and pre-theatre' menu for £33 which might be a good option for those not wanting to go all out. All menu information can be found on the website.
The food is fusion, while keeping many aspects traditional, such as the sashimi selection and the tempura. All starters are designed to share, which works out perfectly with plenty of selection, all bursting with colour and flavour to leave you satisfied. There is a varied and strong selection for mains, all so tempting. Recommended would be to order different main dishes and share!
The presentation of the food is immaculate, and the quality of food is very high. Here pictured are all dishes part of the 'weekend brunch' menu, except(!) the dark chocolate and green tea pudding which was ordered seperately.
